How PT Helped Me Unlock My Whole Body

When I was first referred to All in Physical Therapy, it was for back pain. I was already frustrated from having been in and out of various physical therapy places since a car wreck in 2018. I did not want to go through more physical workouts when I could barely stand up without passing out. If you couldn’t tell, I have unresolved trauma from the ghosts of former physical therapists.
Angie was immediately unlike anyone I had ever worked with. She listened to every small symptom I would bring up. I could actively see her putting the pieces together. At that moment, I realized I didn’t have to hold back the weird symptoms (no matter how small), which often got dismissed by doctors and medical professionals across the board.
Angie brought Colby in to listen to the neurological symptoms I had started experiencing. Together, we made a plan to attack from all angles (literally). Working with Colby on balance and finding odd scenarios ultimately helped get blood flow to my brainstem so I could become a functioning human again. Meanwhile, Angie realized that my neck was causing widespread issues across my back and even down into my low back. We came up with ways to try and stabilize as much of my bones as possible. She even found the instability in my pelvic floor.
Colby theorized about what could be causing the neurological symptoms. With his research and expertise, we started treatment for POTS. I started feeling better for the first time in a long time. I took Colby and Angie’s notes to my primary care doctor, and he felt comfortable treating me for POTS. Angie was able to help with my constipation, and with her expertise, I am now getting my pelvic floor and some of the hypermobility in my joints addressed.
I would have never thought that back pain would take me on a trip through my whole body. I have learned more about my nervous system and digestive tract than I ever would have in a biology class. I am forever grateful to Angie and Colby. Both have listened, advocated, and helped me in ways that have made a lasting impact.
All in Physical Therapy has changed how I view physical therapy, and I have made great friendships along the way. -Ashleigh
