Alex Wilson, DPT

My Story

Alex received her Bachelor of Health Sciences with a major in Exercise science and a minor in Coaching in 2013 from Black Hills State University in South Dakota. She went on to graduate with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015 from University of St Augustine for Health Sciences in Florida. In 2017, Alex completed her Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) through University of St Augustine, which is a specialty treatment approach that consists of hands-on techniques designed to mobilize joints, muscle, connective tissue, and nerves to facilitate healing and restore functional mobility

Alex has had experience in a variety of settings, to include home health, rehab, outpatient orthopedics, acute care, and the Boise VA Medical Center for a combination of all of it. Alex has volunteered her time traveling to El Salvador to treat patients that do not have access to health care. She enjoys all areas of therapy but is particularly drawn to orthopedics (to include dry needling and other manual techniques), neurologic/ movement disorder rehab, adaptive sports, sports medicine, and geriatric rehab and balance.

Alex is a Colorado native and resides in Meridian with her husband, three dogs, and two cats (she’d have 100 cats if her husband would let her). The Wilsons have grown their family with the recent adoption of their 6-year-old twins. She is open to all advice on parenting a rambunctious red head and navigating the jealousy between her first fur daughter and equally sassy long eye lashed beauty. They spend their spring and summers on the softball field, golf course, and mountain bike trails, and their winters on the ski slopes. They are big baseball fans and love spending their free time traveling. Alex’s superpower would be having the ability to persuade her bosses to pick up Starbucks on command and buy pens that have erasers. If you want a fur child, she could be your broker with her hook ups at the Humane Society! If you’re curious about what her weekend plans are, just ask what state and what field her and her husband will be playing at! You may find her charming, but she’ll put you through pain!
