Street Tacos, 2-Ways

Steak Street Tacos


Flank Steak Marinade:

2 T Olive Oil

Juice of 3 limes

Juice of 1 orange

1 T cumin

2 T chili powder

1 T garlic

3 T Honey

2 T Worcestershire Sauce

Salt and Pepper


Combine ingredients in a gallon zip bag and add flank steak. Allow to marinate for 2+ hours.

Pour steak with marinade into a crock pot and heat on low for 4 hours, or grill steak to desired temperature. Shred and serve on tortillas with your favorite toppings.



Black Bean and Sweet Potato Street Tacos

1 T. Olive Oil

1 can black beans with liquid

1 lg sweet potato diced

½ red onion diced finely

Juice of 1 lime

2 chipotle in adobo peppers, diced

½ t. cumin

1 t. chili powder

1 T. Honey

Chopped cilantro


Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat, add sweet potatoes and onion and sauté for 5 minutes. Add beans with liquid, lime juice, honey, chipotle peppers with some of the sauce, cumin, honey, and cilantro. Stir to combine and cover, stir often until sweet potatoes are soft, not mushy. Serve on tortillas with toppings.


CAUTION-These tacos are spicy! If you don’t want spicy, omit or reduce the chipotle in adobo peppers.
